Frequently Asked Questions
What do Magnetic Bracelets do?
Please read our Benefits of Magnetic Bracelets page.
How do Magnetic Bracelets Work?
There are two theories on how magnetic therapy works in healing the body:
1) Magnets increase blood circulation, which means an area of the body affected by magnets will get more required nutrients from the bloodstream.
2) Magnets produce a slight electrical current, stimulating your body to produce more of its natural painkillers.
What do Copper Bracelets do?
Please read our Benefits of Copper Bracelets page to find out what Sabona Copper Bracelets can do for your health.
How do Copper Bracelets work?
Copper is an essential mineral. When worn on the skin for long periods of time, it’s believed it can be absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream very efficiently, perhaps even more so than most dietary copper. Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) is a copper-dependent enzyme that reduces pain and inflammation. By increasing the amount of copper in your blood, the body may use copper to make more of its own SOD. Please read our Benefits of Copper for Superoxide Dismutase page for information on how important SOD is and what copper bracelets do to increase it.
Are Sabona Magnets North or South Facing?
All Sabona magnets are north polar facing. A north, or negative, polarity has been shown to have many positive effects on the body.
Will the Bracelet Turn my Wrist Turn Green?
While wearing any copper jewellery, it is normal for the skin underneath to turn green. This indicates that the copper is being absorbed into the bloodstream. Washing with soap and water or lemon juice will remove it if desired. Our magnetic bracelets are made from the highest quality stainless steel; therefore, they will not discolour your skin.
How do I Know What Size to Buy?
Please refer to our Sabona Bracelet Sizing page for instructions on how to properly size your wrist for each of Sabona’s bracelet styles.
Can I Get My Bracelet Resized?
Sabona Magnetic Bracelets come pre-sized and should be selected carefully at time of purchase. Permanent pins are used to hold the links together and cannot be removed or the warranty will become void.
What Wrist Should I Wear it on?
Your Sabona bracelet can be worn on either the left or right wrist. It is suggested that it not be worn on the same wrist as your watch because it may drain the battery.
What is a Gauss Rating?
Gauss strength is measure of magnetism; the higher the rating, the stronger the magnet’s power and effectiveness. Sabona Copper Bracelets feature two 1700-gauss magnets. Sabona Magnetic Bracelets have at least one 1200 or higher gauss magnet in each link.
What Level of Effective Penetration do Sabona Magnets Have?
Sabona Samarium Cobalt magnets have a penetration of approximately 1.5” (3.81 cm) for 1200-gauss and 2” (5.08 cm) for 1700-gauss.
Can I Wear my Bracelet When Sleeping or in The Shower?
Keep your Sabona on at all times, except when using household cleaning products or other solvents. We also recommend you remove your jewellery when you are going to be in saltwater or in a chlorinated pool/hot-tub.
How do I Properly Take Care of my Sabona?
Care for your bracelet the same as you would any fine jewellery. We recommend using a good quality jewellery cloth to keep it clean and polished. There is a clear coating on the outside of our Copper Bracelets that will prevent tarnishing for a short time. As the coating wears off, clean the band with a jewellery cloth to maintain the shine. Keep the inside surface of the bracelet clean as well. For more information about how to care for your bracelet, see our About Sabona page.
Who Shouldn’t Wear Sabona Bracelets?
Those who are pregnant or have an electrical implant such as a pacemaker should refrain from wearing a magnetic bracelet.
How Long Will my Sabona Last?
With proper care, Sabona Copper Bracelets will have an effective life of between 18 and 24 months. Sabona Magnetic bracelets continue to work for many years.
